At the behest of the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, officers of the Internal Security Agency detained the former member of the Management Board of Orlen SA Michał R. – informed the press spokesman of the Warsaw Regional Prosecutor's Office Mateusz Martyniuk. It is an investigation into Orlen Trading Switzerland GmbH (OTS).

Michał R. was arrested on Wednesday. “The Regional Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw will keep informed about subsequent activities in this case,” noted Prosecutor Martyniuk.

The investigation of the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw concerns OTS GmbH and Orlen are damage in the amount of approx. $ 378 million, which is equivalent to approx. PLN 1.5 billion as a result of the conclusion from August 21, 2023 to December 21, 2023, three unfavorable contracts for the purchase of oil.

Parallel to the case file, the notification of the General Financial Information Inspector was received regarding the suspicion of committing the so -called money laundering from the benefits of the damage to the detriment of OTS and Orlen companies and this issue was also covered by the investigation.
