Russia is losing this war. In space, he lasts behind the USA and China

As part of the project “Connection and observation of the Earth”, Russia plans to put 114 satellites in orbit. A separate project segment is devoted to the development of unmanned technologies – according to Bakanów, 102 specialized satellites will also be sent to control the unmanned space ships in space.
Among the technological initiatives of Roskosmos is the launch of Gigachat Sbierbank at the international space station of the Neuron Network. According to the head of the State Corporation, the implementation of this project is planned for autumn this year.
However, ambitious plans contrast with the real situation in the industry, which has been experiencing a serious crisis in recent years. In 2024, Russia realized only 17 space starts – two less than a year ago and four less than in 2022. According to the PayLoadspace portal, Russia lasted behind the United States, which realized 145 starts and China (68 starts).
Plan 40 starts planned by Roskosmos was not carried out even in half. As a result, the final number of starts was one of the lowest in the entire post -Soviet history. Russia only recorded worse results in Pandemical 2020-2021, when it fired at 16 satellites a year.
As BBC indicates, the number of space starts from Russian cosmodromes in 2024 returned to the level of the early 1960s – the times of the first steps in the exploration of the cosmos and the era of Yuri Gagarin.
