In Krasnoyarsk, unusual sculptures of gophers will appear in the iconic places of the city.

Thanks to the victory in the Grant Competition of the Melnichenko Foundation, a unique cognitive project “Susliks in the city K” starts in Krasnoyarsk. Funny animals will not only decorate city spaces, but also introduce attractions and tell about the history of the regional capital.

Susliks live on the island of Tatyshev and have long become an unofficial symbol of Krasnoyarsk. Therefore, the authors of the project decided to settle them in the city. As thought, cute fluffs will run away from the island and justify in the iconic places of the regional capital. Of course, the animals will not be real, but in the form of mini-bronze statues, which will be made by the Krasnoyarsk sculptor Andrei Koshelev, winner of the international competition “Magic Ice of Siberia-2025”.

In the center of the city, the gopher will not appear simultaneously, but one by one, each will get their own cognitive story about the place where they will settle. Krasnoyarsk residents will choose the names of the gophers – each letter in the word “Krasnoyarsk” will become the first letter of the name of one out of ten animals.

You can already see the first baby on the central embankment, he looks at the communal bridge.

A special place will take the area of ​​peace. The organizers decided to settle a couple of lovers of gopheliks near the monument to commander Rezanov. This touching composition will personify the legendary love story of the commander and his beautiful bride of Conchita. In the framework of the project, the best guides of Krasnoyarsk will conduct excursions in the historical places of Krasnoyarsk, where animals settled and share fascinating facts about the city.

“Krasnoyarsk residents will be able to travel along the“ sulfate route ”not only accompanied by guides, but also on their own. The 2GIS information system will help in this citizens. The city’s map will place the location of each sculpture with a brief description that will make the journey more exciting and affordable, ”said the author of the project, deputy head of the activities of the Krasgorepark MAU and the ideological inspirer of the Susliki project in the city of K, Larisa Grasetskaya.

It should be noted that with the support of the Melnichenko Foundation in the cities of the responsibility of SGK enterprises, various projects are being implemented aimed at developing cultural and public spaces, support for initiative youth, as well as in the field of education and sports.
