A difficult season for Iga Świątek

Roland Garros, also called the French Open, is one of the four Grand Slam tournaments in the tennis calendar. The others are the Australian Open, Wimbledon and the US Open. Grand Slams differ from regular tournaments primarily in terms of rank, history, prize pool, number of ranking points and bracket size. In the women's and men's singles, there are 128 players in the main bracket, and the winner receives 2,000 ranking points. This is more than in the WTA 1000 or ATP Masters 1000 tournaments, which are the most important events outside the Grand Slam.
Roland Garros is the only Grand Slam tournament played on clay courts. This surface slows down the ball, rewards patience, physical preparation, sliding and the ability to build long rallies. That's why success in Paris is often considered one of the most difficult tests in professional tennis.
