The head of government before the start of the Tuesday meeting of the government reminded that during the Monday meeting he turned to the leaders of the coalition ruling with the issue of a vote of confidence for the government.

“Mr. Marshal Szymon Hołownia suggested that the vote, this point, take place on Wednesday, June 11,” he said. He emphasized that it was originally planned to take place the day before, but – as he noted – on Tuesday the meeting room would be occupied due to the meeting of the representatives of the EC with parliamentarians.

“That is why we have just established that our speeches and voting on the vote of trust for the government will take place on June 11, on Wednesday,” said the head of government. (PAP)

Tusk: The consequence of the vote of trust will be the periodic assessment of the government's work, it will be devoted to July

The vote of trust for the government should be a new opening, so it will be offensive, not defensive – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Tuesday. He added that the consequence of the vote of trust will be the periodic assessment of the government's work and individual ministries; July will be devoted to this.

During his speech on Tuesday before the government meeting, the prime minister said that “we know well after a year and a half, that some things can be done better, faster”. “The vote of trust should be a new opening, i.e. offensive, not defensive,” he added.

He emphasized that for “the whole coalition on October 15 this day is to be the day of such a new impetus.” “I am convinced that you meet this task,” he added.

Tusk pointed out that “the consequence of the vote of trust will of course be such a periodic assessment of the government's work and individual ministries.”

“July will be devoted to the preparation of the whole next year – of course the issue of the budget, etc. – but also the assessment of what we managed to do, what was not done, who is responsible for what and the consequence of this will be the changes we have already talked about. But, as classics say, good people have nothing to fear” – he said. (PAP)
