Nicușor Dan will talk on Tuesday with a head of the European Commission about the PNRR: “Of course, we promised a lot and we have not done anything. But now it is a new administration”

President Nicuşor Dan said he will have a telephone discussion on Tuesday with the general manager of SG Recover – Task Force for recovery and resilience within the General Secretariat of the European Commission, Celine Gauer, Agerpres reports.

“We are in a group of countries that have excessive deficit. It is true that we have the largest deficit of excessive deficit countries. Tomorrow is a meeting of the Ministers of Finance in the European Commission. And they say for each of the countries with excessive deficit if they did or did something. And to us will say that they did nothing,”

“It is a discussion on the phone that I will participate in the beginning today, at 11:30,” said Nicuşor Dan in a statement given to the press in front of his home.

According to the president, the discussion with Celine Gauer will focus on PNRR.

“It is a discussion with the commission. Of course, we, Romania, promised a lot and did nothing. But now it is a new administration,” said Nicușor Dan.

“The discussion is on two levels. It is a discussion with the vice -president of the commission, Mr. Dombrovskis, who focuses on the deficit, and is a discussion with Mrs. Gauer, who focuses on the PNRR with two aspects: on the one hand, the attempt to transfer some projects that we know we do instead of other projects that we do not know, on the other hand; PNRR and with which we are late.
