US President Donald Trump and his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, will soon discuss trade issues, including critical mineral dispute, said US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, according to Reuters. The economic counselor of the White House, Kevin Hassett, said the American side is expecting “a wonderful conversation”.

On Friday, Donald Trump accused China of violating the US agreement of mutual reduction in tariffs and commercial restrictions for critical minerals.

“What China does is to retain essential products for industrial supply chains in India.

“I am confident that when President Trump and the president of the party (Chinese Communist, no), XI Jinping, will have a telephone call this problem will be solved. But the fact that they hold some of the products they have agreed during our agreement – maybe it is a problem in the Chinese system, maybe it is intentional.

Donald Trump said on Friday that he is sure he would talk to Xi Jinping.

Asked if there was a discussion with the Chinese counterpart on the US President's agenda, the secretary of the treasury replied: “I think we will see something very soon.”

The Economic Councilor of the White House, Kevin Hasset, said that it was not established a specific date for the conversation, but there were discussions that leaders will talk about the Geneva Agreement last month on some tariff disputes.

“President Trump, we expect, will be a wonderful conversation this week with President XI about trade negotiations. This is our expectation,” Hasset said.

Trump has accused China of “completely violated understanding” with the USA

In a post on Social Truth on Friday, the US president accused China of violating the agreement on commercial rates.

“Two weeks ago, China was in great economic danger! The very high rates we set made practically for China to trade on the United States market, which is by far the number one in the world. I saw what was happening and I didn't like them, not for them. I had a meeting with China to save her from what I thought would be a very bad situation that I didn't want to let it happen, “wrote Donald Trump.

Despite this agreement accepted by the US, China did not respect its understanding part and violated all its provisions, Trump accuses.

“China, probably no surprise to anyone, completely violated understanding with the United States. I received because I was Mr. Nice Guy (no good boy),” concluded the American leader.
