Over the past two years, the sale of young players from the base to Masia brought to the club Barcelona Nearly 60 million euros, notes mark.
The fans of Barcelona are delighted by the performance of Flick's team and, especially, the role played by young people from their own academy.
Names like Lamine Yamal, Cubarsí, Fermín, Gavi are on everyone's lips, and their contribution was essential in conquering the championship, the King's Cup and the Super Cup. The value of these players is huge, but the club does not intend to sell them, considering them a heritage for the future.
But not all players have the luck or ability to reach the first team. Here comes deco. The sports director has the mission to get the maximum financially from the players who will not be part of the main lot. This is one of its main goals for this summer, as in the previous periods of transfers. In the following days, the departure of Álex Valle to Como will be materialized, a clear example of the strategy to capitalize on these players.
The Italian club will pay the termination clause, fixed to six million euros. A very good price for a player formed at La Masía, but who did not start in the first team. After three loans at Levante, Celtic and Como, Barcelona now gets a considerable profit.
The best deal was done with Nico González
The midfielder left Barcelona to Valencia, then to Porto, transfers that brought eight million euros to the Catalan club. His transfer to Manchester City in winter added another 13.3 million euros to Barcelona's accounts. A perfect operation for a player who did not impose in Barcelona.
Since Dec's arrival as sports director, seven players trained at the club Academy have been sold, generating revenues of 57.7 million euros: Nico (21.2 million), Chadi Riad (9), Abde (7.5), Marc Guiu (6), Álex Valle (6), Unai Hernández (5) and Estanis Pedrola (3). To these are added Mika Faye and Julián Araujo, trained at Barça Atlétic, who brought to the club another 20.3 million euros.
Deco has always considered that the sale of these players trained at the club represents an important source of income, notes the quoted surress, which also says that it is essential for the club to use the talent of the footballers who fail to impose themselves in the first team.
Since his arrival, a high emphasis has been placed on loans, and to supervise these transfers Bojan Krkic has been employed. In addition to the previously mentioned players, many others are borrowed to other teams and could generate important revenues for the club in case of definitive transfers, due to the percentages set for future sales.
An example is Todibo, whose departure has been speculated in several transfers and which could bring significant amounts to the club. Trincao, Mingueza or Mika Mármol is in a similar situation. A special case is Vitor Roque, sold at Palmeiras for about the same amount for which it was purchased, Barcelona keeping 20% of a future transfer.
