This is at least the third US diplomatic institution in the Middle East that Iran has attacked in recent days. Previously, there were flights to the embassies in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
Context
On February 28, Israel announced the military operation “Lion's Roar” in Iran. In the USA it was called “Epic Fury”. American President Donald Trump announced his intention protect the American people by eliminating the immediate threats posed by the Iranian regime.
Tehran threatened a “crushing” blow in response. Explosions were later recorded in several countries in the Middle East where there are American military bases – in Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE and Bahrain.
On March 1, the Iranian army began a new wave of attacks on the countries of the Middle East. Explosions occurred in Israel, Dubai (UAE), Doha (Qatar), Bahrain, Jordan and Iraq.
On March 2, the US State Department urged American citizens to immediately leave a number of Middle Eastern countries, including Saudi Arabia, due to security threats.
