“Damn knows what is going on.” The intercepted conversation about a successful attack deep into Russia

On a recording made available on May 31 by Ukrainian services on a telegram, Facebook and other social media, an anonymous Russian says that repeated interruptions in the delivery of the Internet in Saransk, the capital of the Republic of Mordovia, after the drone attack caused the residents to cut off the world and leave them in the dark.

“They hit the factory. They broke half Sarańska!” – he says in a panicked voice.

Already on Wednesday morning, May 7, the Ukrainian authorities announced that the attack was aimed at a plant in Saransk in the Republic of Mordovia producing fiber optic systems.

This plant is a key element of the Russian defense industry, producing cables and communication equipment for the Russian army, including drones using fiber optic connections.

The woman describes that after the internet attack in Sarańsk and the whole Mordowia he was cut off many times, leaving residents without information. “The Ministry of Extraordinary Situations has sent a message about a drone attack,” says the Russian. “But the internet doesn't work again – today it doesn't work. Nobody knows what is going on.”
