Passenger train disaster in Russia. They are killed and wounded

Russian railways announced that the viaduct collapsed “as a result of illegal interference in transport activities”. According to some sources, the fragment of the viaduct was blown up. A rescue operation is underway.

The Russian Federal Road Transport Agency Rosavtodor cited by the Associated Press reported that the destroyed viaduct ran over the railway tracks and collapsed at the time of the passage of the passenger train, going from Moscow to the city of Klimov from Moscow in the Belgorodz region.

“The collapse of the viaduct to the railway tracks caused seven fatalities. 30 injured people, including two children, were transported to medical centers in the Bryńska region. Two injured, including a child, are in a serious condition” – wrote the Governor of the Brian region Aleksander Bogomaz on the Telegram. “The victims are given all necessary help,” he added. The TASS agency informs about 33 wounded people.

Photos passed by the authorities show damaged wagons lying among the concrete elements of the destroyed viaduct. In the pictures placed in social media, however, you can see the damaged viaduct and cars, which at the last moment managed to stop in front of the pounding viaduct.

The Russian authorities did not report who they consider guilty of the catastrophe, but as the Associated Press notes, in the past, “Ukrainian sabotagers” were accused of similar cases.

AP reserves that most information about similar cases cannot be confirmed by independent sources.

The Bryan region is located near the border with Ukraine and since the start of the full -glass invasion of Ukraine by Russia over three years ago, it was often attacked by Ukrainian forces, as did Kurski and Belgorodz's districts.

The Ukrainian side has not yet responded to this information.
