Russian proposal for Ukraine. Kyiv indicates his expectations


Jermak emphasized that Kiev expects from Russia to present a memorandum before June 2 on a peace agreement. – Ukraine is ready to take part in the next meeting, but we want to conduct constructive discussions – said the head of the office of the President of Ukraine and added that for Kiev “important” it is to receive this document, and Russia has “enough time” to do it.
According to him, the Russian side received a text describing the position of Ukraine in detail. In turn, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Heorhij Tychy stated that Russia is about to transfer the text of its peace memorndum to Ukraine, probably in fear that it is impossible to implement.
Moscow offers Ukraine the next round of peace conversations
“Russian concerns about sending your Memorandum Ukraine suggest that it most likely contains unrealistic ultimatum and they are afraid of being blocked that they block the peace process” – wrote Tychy on Platform X.
Earlier on Thursday, the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Pieskow rejected Kiev's request, arguing that Russia had not received any response from Ukraine regarding the Russian proposal regarding conversations on June 2 in Istanbul. In response, the President of Ukraine Wołodymyr Zelanski described this as another “maneuver” of Russia, aimed at making the conversations between the two sides to become “senseless”.
On Wednesday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergei Lavrov announced that Moscow proposed Ukraine to conduct the next round of peace talks on June 2 in Istanbul. – The Russian side, according to the findings, quickly developed the relevant memorandum, which determines our position on all aspects of reliable elimination of the causes of crisis – said Lavrov, referring to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
