The Minister of National Defense, Angel Tîlvăvă, and the President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, participated on Thursday in the ceremony organized on the occasion of the Heroes Day at the Monument of the “Tomb of the Unknown School” in Carol I Park in Bucharest.
The ceremony attended by several officials, members of the army, but also a priest of priests who officiated a job in honor of the Romanian heroes, was transmitted on the official account of the Presidential Administration of Romania.
After the head of state, Nicușor Dan, spoke the speech at the organized ceremony, the Minister of Defense, Angel Tîlvă, was invited to speak.
“Mr. President of Romania, dear military, honored audience, we are all, here, at the tomb of the unknown city, on a day full of meanings for Christians, the day of the Ascension of Jesus Christ,” said at the beginning of the discourse, which seemed to read from a sheet.
The joke of the Romanian official was also reported in the comments by the Internet users who were following the live broadcast.
“Whether it is the soldiers fallen in the War of Independence, the two world wars or recently the missions in the theaters of operations in the Western Balkans, Afghanistan or Iraq, our heroes have honored their sacred oath to Romania in the name of peace and the values in which we believe.
Later, he stressed that “at the head of the unknown hero, the one who symbolizes the sacrifice of all the soldiers fallen into wars, battles and missions on behalf of Romania, we will say heroes names that signify that none of them was and will not forget” before the solemn ceremony of the name.
The Day of Heroes is celebrated, every year, at the same time with the Christian feast of the Ascension of the Lord, 40 days after the Holy Easter.
