The World Bank recommended Ukraine not to raise tariffs for container rail transportation, but to develop them
The World Bank has prepared an analytical report on the transport and logistics system of Ukraine.
He recommended that “special attention of the development of rail transportation containerization, since the future envisages an increase in the volume of transportation of goods with added value.”
“In order to resist the risks of income loss, UZ should focus on improving container logistics, the development of intermodal terminals and improving operating efficiency,” the document reads.
Against the background of these recommendations, it should be recalled that the UZ initiated the raising tariffs for the transportation of goods in bars weighing more than 26 tons.
All market participants opposed this. In particular, the European Business Association stated that raising tariffs will reduce the volume of container transportation by rail and suspend the development of intermodal chains and terminals.
