Israel continues strikes on Iran despite truce – media

According to the publication, despite the announcement of a ceasefire, the Israeli air force continues to launch strikes on Iran.

Iran has also fired several salvos of ballistic missiles at Israel since the ceasefire took effect, the sources said. In addition, there are no signs yet that Israel has stopped its operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon, the newspaper writes.

The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later clarified that Lebanon is not part of the two-week ceasefire between the United States, Israel and Iran, CNN writes.

“Israel supports President Trump’s decision to suspend strikes on Iran for two weeks, subject to the immediate opening of the strait by Iran and the cessation of all attacks on the United States, Israel and countries in the region… The two-week ceasefire does not apply to Lebanon,” the Israeli government indicated.

Context

US President Donald Trump agreed to suspend strikes on Iran for two weeks in exchange for the full opening of the Strait of Hormuz. He wrote about this in Truth Social an hour and a half before the ultimatum expired.

The head of the White House said that he considers Iran's 10-point proposal to be a “working basis for negotiations.” Trump claims that “almost all the controversial issues” between the two countries have already been agreed upon, but a two-week truce will allow the agreement to be completed.

Iran also agreed to a truce and the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, this was confirmed by Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi. Iran's National Security Council said Tehran had achieved all military goals, “won a great victory and forced criminal America to accept its 10-point plan.”

Israel has joined a two-week cessation of strikes on Iran, CNN reported, citing a senior White House official.
