An analysis published by the Hungarian press has shown that, while the most population wealth stagnates, the billionaire elite is increasing.
In twenty years, the wealth of the richest 100 Hungarians has increased five times, and calculating in the forest, has increased almost ten times, which means that the first 10% of Hungarian households, especially the first 1%, increased their wealth at a remarkable rate, while the vast majority of the population has registered any increase in a capital. The Hungarian consulting company in the private banking field has performed an analysis in relation to the recent publication of the newspaper “Népszava” of the ranking of the 100 richest Hungarians.
“The Net Hungarian financial wealth is 97 thousand billion forint, of which 11,000 billion forints are owned by the richest 100 people. The main finding is that the wealth of the super-rich elite-0.001% of the total population-represents over 13% of the net financial wealth of the Hungarian households, and this report is increasing,” István Karagich.
According to the analysis, this growth is also correlated with the development of the assets managed in the private banking sector, where the growth is even larger, 13 times: in 2005, the value of the assets managed by the service providers of the sector was 902 billion forint, so that at the beginning of 2025 it would increase to over 11,500 billion forint.
“The share of the assets held by this sector increased by 10 percentage points, from 1.9% to 11.2%, within the net financial wealth of the households during two decades, on the basis of which it can be seen that the private banking market is primarily an indicator of the enrichment of the super-rich, rather than a reflection of the middle class”. Even among the rich, the wealth of several thousand people is increasing, because, according to the analysis, only 8-9 percent of the clients of the private banks in the country have 40% of the total assets administered.
While in 2015 only Sándor Csányi could claim a fortune that exceeded a billion dollars, according to the 3-6-year-old blocking forecast that synthesizes the most expected development of the richest population, Hungary will have $ 7 billiona by the end of 2025 and 10 by 2030.
The number of people with a fortune of at least 40 billion forint could increase from 75 people at the beginning of 2025 to 150 until the end of the decade, and if the rate of concentration continues at this rate, by 2030 to 17-20% of the total financial wealth of Hungarian households could be concentrated in the hands of hundreds of people. Blochamps also published a three -year forecast, according to which by 2028, in Hungary will be nine billionaires in dollars. (Material made with the support of Rador Radio Romania)
