Dmitri Medvedev, vice -president of the Russian Security Council, responded to criticisms launched by US President Donald Trump to his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, and said that “the only really bad thing” that should arouse concern is an “third World War,” Reuters reports.

“Regarding Trump's words about how little” plays with fire “and about” really bad things “that happens to Russia. I know of one really bad thing-Wwii (third World War, no). I hope Trump understands this!”

The reaction of the Russian official came in the context in which, on Tuesday, Donald Trump said that Vladimir Putin “plays with fire”.

“What Vladimir Putin does not understand is that if it wasn't, Russia would have already passed through really terrible things. And I mean truly terrible (the author's underline, no). He plays with fire!” Trump wrote in a post on his social media platform, Social Truth.

Donald Trump had said at the weekend that Vladimir Putin “took it completely”

On Sunday, the US president had stated that his Russian counterpart “took a crazy”, at the same time warning that a possible attempt to occupy the whole of Ukraine “will lead to the collapse of Russia.”

“I always had a very good relationship with Vladimir Putin from Russia, but something happened to him. He took it completely! He kills a lot of people, and I'm not just talking about soldiers. Rockets and drones are launched on Ukraine cities, for no reason,” Trump said.

“I have always said that he wants all Ukraine, not just a piece of it, and maybe this will prove true, but if he does, that will lead to Russia's fall!”, Added the White House leader.

In a reaction on Monday, the Kremlin spokesman, Dmitri Peskov, said that the Russians are “truly grateful to Americans and President Trump for their help in organizing and launching this negotiation process.”

“It is a very important achievement. Of course, at the same time, this is an important moment that is related to an emotional overload of all those involved and there are emotional reactions,” added Peskov.
