“According to the investigation, in 2023 the official arranged his wife to the team he headed for the position of shooter to organize her increased payments. To formally adhere to the law, the couple even divorced, but were related,” the message said.
Subsequently, the brigade commander attracted three subordinates to the transaction, including two commanders of the units subordinate to him, they told the GBR.
“They made false documents on the alleged participation of a woman in the hostilities on the clash line. Thus, in 2023-2024, she illegally received almost 1 million 200 thousand UAH of additional rewards,” the report said.
The GBR noted that all this time the brigade wife served a service near her husband and was engaged in horse breeding on a special farm.
“The woman even managed to spend two weeks in Poland, having left the military unit arbitrarily,” the State Bureau added.
The former brigade commander, his wife is accused of taking possession of other people's property by abuse of official provisions by a preliminary conspiracy by a group of persons on an especially large size (part 5 of article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), and two subordinates in abuse of official position (part 2 of article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
In addition, the brigade commander, two of his accomplices and another subordinate are suspected of serving (part 2 of article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), and the woman in unauthorized care of the military unit (part 5 of article 407 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), the GBR reported.
“The sanction of articles provides for imprisonment for up to 12 years with confiscation of property […] The defendants arrested an apartment, cars, a land plot, a van for transporting horses. The collection of weapons of the ex-combination worth about 750 thousand UAH was transferred to the National Agency for the identification, search and management of assets, ”the GBR summarized.
