The National Veterinary Sanitary and Safety Authority (ANSVSA) announces the withdrawal from Penny stores of a batch of bacon with Boia, in which the presence of the bacterium Listeria monocytogenes was detected, according to news.ro.
This is the product of the house of the Slanina taste with Boia, 250g, lot 183025, validity term 13.06.2025.
According to ANSVSA, the producer Agro Ardeal initiated the withdrawal from the commercialization of the product, as a result of the detection of the presence of Listeria monocytogenes.
Customers are advised not to consume the product, but to destroy it or bring it back to any Penny store. The value will be returned, without the need to present the fiscal receipt.

What is Listeria monocytogenes
Listeria monocytogenes causes the disease called listeriosis. This bacterium can be found in soil, water, raw vegetables, meat, unpasteurized dairy products and other contaminated foods. The Listeria monocytogenes bacteria has an extremely high resistance low, and can survive in a wide range of environments.
Listeria monocytogenes infection can mainly occur by digestive, by consuming contaminated foods.
