In a county with over 8,000 unemployed officials officially in the record of the public employment service, employers say they find it harder than ever. “Most came with the note in hand to say they are not interested.”

It was a new general job scholarship, that place, if you are really looking for a job, you can find variants. In Slatina, in Olt county, over 330 jobs were available, most for qualified workers and 18 positions for those with higher education. Employers do not even present their job offer for unskilled jobs, because they have the experience of similar events when the unemployed have transmitted directly that they do not want to work “with a jerk”. Firms find more and more difficult, but no matter, regardless of the job.

Hundreds of people waited on Friday, May 23, 2025, the opening of the scholarship organized in the foyer of the Youth Culture House. There are a small part of the more than 8,000 unemployed registered in the AJOFM Olt database, the unemployment passing, in March, 6.2% in the county. Not everyone came to find a job. In fact, most of them recognize that, because they are unemployed, they are forced to present themselves to such events. At the entrance I receive a note and, if they prove that they have contacted three employers who have positions that require qualifications other than those of the unemployment receive the visa and for the current month and remain unemployed.

The representatives of the employers who are for the first time on the stock exchange are quickly clarified what they have to do. I recognize those disinterested in attitude, but especially by the note that the unemployed sometimes stretch without words. “Most are clear for what they came from. It was the 50+ people's scholarship. There are people not over 50 years old, even over 60. Some understand that they are waiting for the pension. Others think they work in black and are not interested, because they lose unemployment. It is true that it was never like now, I have never left with so few CVs ”, says the representative of a construction company. He reveals that they have not even passed on the list of vacancies of unskilled worker, because they occupy them with foreign citizens. “There are people who have no qualification, but they feel offended if they give them an unskilled post. So I have not mentioned them.” adds the responsibility of human resources.

Some dialogues are hallucinating. They are unemployed who have the objective of getting the visa and nothing else, but caught in discussions with employers try to prove that they are in no way prepared for what companies are looking for. One of the companies has a turning position. The unemployed, to be 55-60 years old, approaches and begins the conversation with the company representative:

– But you will not be alone, you have an engineer, you have guiding colleagues.

– I have some health problems. After I remedy them I will look for them, without anyone telling me, I still searched before, until I get to unemployment. Now my mother died …

– Let us understand that you are not ready for a job now. But take a phone number from the company and …

– Yes, yes, now I am not in a physical or emotional state now …. “the conversation between the unemployed and the representative of the company ends.

Some stands further, a man tries to convince the representatives of a well -known company on the industrial platform that he is not good for the positions they have on offer. HR people, in turn, strive to clarify what benefits they would have if they accept to qualify for work in another job.

– More than you take the guard. And you have a lot more advantages: you have private insurance, health insurance, you have a holiday ticket, meal vouchers …

They come to the stock market and people who are satisfied not with little money, but with very small amounts. A gentleman (see video) is 61 years old and is a beneficiary of social assistance. He says the amount is small, but he has health insurance, so if he gets sick he will not pay hospitalization. Work does not look for work. He worked, but in his youth, through factories that have been abolished in the meantime. He approaches the age of retirement, but does not know if he will have the right to retire. “I didn't gather the years of age ”, confesses the man. However, he is going to go and ask for documents for the worked periods. Of a job, he recognizes, he is not very interested. His qualification is a carpenter. “Now there are insulated windows, who is hiring me?!”, says the man.

In the same situation there are other beneficiaries of social assistance, who in order to continue to raise the small help from the town hall must prove that they have been looking for a job and have not found anything suitable.

“Me? I have never worked, we are from social assistance!”, Say a woman who already has the completed note and can go quietly at home.

“He is not looking for work. I come more to put his visa. It's worse than usual, once they were looking for work, now I don't even understand why they are here. They don't want to work at 42. Said a lady she was sick. (…) They told us they were working in black when they passed. It suits them, because they do not stay at 8 hours. Those who hire them are wrong, because they want to hire ”, finds another employer.

The few young people in the job stock market are actually future graduates of vocational school or technological high school. Many have already made their plans, they want to go abroad. Some will also try to admit the faculty, if they pass the BAC exam, and if not, they have learned that they can follow a career in the army or in the gendarmerie, on certain positions, even in the situation in which they have graduated only ten classes.

From the MAPN offer, in fact, the most requested positions, from the thousands of places available on categories of studies, are those of non -commissioned officers and those of professional graduated soldier. More than 500 places are available for higher military education, and for post -secondary education – over 1,400 places. For these, the sports test and the psychological test are eliminatory, followed by the final evaluation interview. In the next stage, the medical record is drawn up, the admission to post -secondary military education being made on the basis of the media from the Baccalaureate, and at the Military Academy based on admission.

And more requested are the positions of professional graduated soldier (SGP), to which even those who graduated only the XA graduate. For these positions, those interested can address both the county military center and directly to the military units that need SGP – where the registration will be carried out and the evidence will be held. As a professional graduated soldier you have accommodation and meals during the training period (which lasts one month), and the net salary exceeds 4,000 lei.

“We have most interviews following the CVs deposited in the company”

The representative of another company says that, in his case, the experience was better than in other editions. “There were several candidates, at least with us. Were even younger and older. There are people who have experience outside the country. I had a mechanic who said he has a diploma in England, it must be equivalent. I interacted with all kinds of people, some more interested, others less interested ”, said the recruiter. The close CVs will be handed over to their colleagues, and the interested persons will be called for the interview. The job scholarship is a way of recruiting, but not the most effective. Ads on various platforms, such as OLX or LinkedIn, has been shown to bring more candidates. Most CVs, on the other hand, are submitted to the company, in the mailbox at the factory gate, the company representative said.

According to the information transmitted by AJOFM Olt, for the Stock Exchange on May 23, 2025, almost 400 jobs were available in Slatina and Caracal (the event was organized at the local agency headquarters). 982 people participated in the stock exchange, 446 being selected for the interview.

It should also be said that, although there are over 8,000 unemployed people (of them a little over 1,100 there are unemployed unemployed), the overwhelming major is the ones without qualification, who are in the categories of very difficult and difficult people. 42.27% only graduated from the gymnasium, and 21.26% are unemployed with primary training or without studies. Only 16.92% of the unemployed have the level of professional training, 16.37% graduated from high school, 0.96% have post -secondary studies, and the unemployed with higher education have a weight of 2.19% in the total unemployed registered in Olt.
