Lavrov: We will transfer a document with the conditions of the peace agreement Ukraine

Russia will be ready to provide Ukraine with a draft document specifying the conditions of a long -term peace agreement as soon as the current exchange of prisoners is completed – said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Ławrow on Friday.


“We are obliged to agree which have recently been reached in Istanbul between Russia and Ukraine delegations. As soon as the exchange of prisoners of war is completed, we will be ready to provide the Ukrainian to the Ukrainian side of the document, which the Russian side is finalizing,” said Lavrov.
He explained that Moscow is currently actively working on the second part of Istanbul agreements, which provides for the preparation by each of the parties to the conflict of the document specifying the conditions of “achieving permanent, long -term, comprehensive agreement”.
The head of the Russian delegation referred to the findings of talks of the delegation of Ukraine and Russia, which took place on May 16 in Istanbul. The Russian side announced a continuation of negotiations and stated that each page was to present the details of its concept about the future suspension of weapons.
Istanbul also includes an agreement on the exchange of prisoners of war of 1000 per 1000 people. This exchange began on Friday, and the President of Ukraine Wołodymyr Zelanski announced that 390 people had returned from Russian captivity. The Russian side also reported that Ukraine released 390 prisoners. According to Zelanski, the exchange is to be continued on Saturday and Sunday.
On Monday, Russian leader Vladimir Putin said that during a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump declared that Russia would offer Ukraine a memorandum regarding a possible future peace treaty and is ready to cooperate with the Ukrainian side in this matter. (PAP)
