13 injured after an attack with the knife at the Hamburg Central Station. A woman was arrested

At least 13 people were injured on Friday night following an attack with the knife on a platform of the central station in Hamburg. A woman was arrested by police.

A serious incident took place on Friday evening, around 6:05 pm, in the Central Station in Hamburg, on the 13/14, right in front of a train station. According to the German publication Bild, 13 people were injured as a result of the incident, three of whom are in critical condition, three others are seriously injured, and six have suffered light injuries.

Initially, it was believed that the number of victims is lower – only eight people, but the official balance shows a much more serious situation. According to the quoted source, some of the wounded are cared for trains, waiting for the transfer to hospitals.

On the spot were reported blood spots, testimony of the violence of the attack. The traffic of the trains was completely suspended following the incident. Federal police arrested a woman, considered the main suspect in this case. It is not yet known its identity or connection with the victims.

In order to provide psychological support to the victims and their relatives, a crisis intervention team from the Red Cross was sent to the scene.

Authorities continue the investigation to establish the exact circumstances of the attack.
