KRRiT illegally frozen revenues from the subscription? NIK will submit a notification

The Supreme Audit Office has prepared a notification of suspected crime committing a crime regarding the transfer of over PLN 337 million to a court deposit instead of public radio and television units.

The results of the inspection were presented on Thursday during a press conference of the Supreme Audit Office. As reported, “the Supreme Audit Office found a number of irregularities in the KRRiT and RMN activities in 2016-2024 (I half of the year)”.

“The most serious concerns the adoption by the National Council – without a substantive basis – resolutions under which its chairman sent in the first half of 2024 funds from subscription revenues – over PLN 337 million – to the court deposit, instead of directly to 19 public radio and television units for the implementation of a public mission” – emphasized.

The Supreme Audit Office has prepared a notification about the suspicion of committing a crime of exceeding the rights or failure to comply with public officials.

Other serious irregularities – as indicated – concerned, among others: the long -term proceedings conducted by the National Broadcasting Council regarding the awarding of a license to distribute programs, the chairman of the National Broadcasting Council of decisions in these matters 2-3 days before the expiry dismissal of members of media companies.
