Ukraine hopes that the vertical gas corridor will be technically equipped by the end of the year; Thanks to this, the country can obtain about 10 billion cubic meters of gas per year, President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday. On that day, Ukraine and Bulgaria signed an agreement on security cooperation in Kiev.

The Vertical Gas Corridor is a program for the development of gas transmission infrastructure in Central Europe supported by the European Union, in which Ukraine also participates. According to the assumption, gas is to flow through this network from Greece north, through Bulgaria and Romania, and then, among others, to Ukraine.
“This corridor will be technically refined, we hope by the end of the year. This is very important to us today. At least it can be an alternative if there are any blockades from some European representatives. (…) Ukraine can receive about 10 billion cubic meters of gas per year,” Zelensky said during a press conference with Bulgarian Prime Minister Andrei Giurov.
The president also said that during the meeting with Giurov, the extension of military support from Bulgaria was discussed, as well as the joint production of various types of weapons, in particular drones, on the territory of both countries. “I am very glad that we have such a ten-year agreement between our countries,” Zelensky noted.
The head of state also thanked Bulgaria for its support in Ukraine's future accession to the European Union.
“Today we signed an agreement on security cooperation with the president, which we have been working on for a long time, and I am glad that this time we managed to implement it. It is not just a formality, but a joint action for our common Atlantic security,” Giurov said.
