Code2cup, the first coffee festival in Romania organized for IT professionals, returns this year to Polytechnic Bucharest and Iași

After the success of the first edition of 2024 -which gathered 15 competing teams, about 3,000 participants from big IT, Freelancers, Start -UPS companies, students, but also important players in the coffee and related -, code2cup, the first coffee festival in Romania dedicated to professionals from the IT&C industry in Romania, returns to Bucharest, returns to Bucharest. Saturday, June 21, 2025, Closer to the IT community, at the Polytechnic University in Bucharest, in the Aulă and in the park in front of the room. About 3,000 participants are expected this year at the festival. Code2cup is organized by TP Blend & More, a company specialized in events, and Third Place Romania, premium content platform.
- On Saturday, June 21, at the National University of Science and Technology Polytechnic in Bucharest (Splaiul Independence no. 313, in Aulă and the park in front of the hall), the second edition of Code2cup-coffee festival, an event dedicated to all coffee festivals (professionals and students) will take place. About 3,000 participants are expected at the festival
- To mark the date of the event, which coincides with the summer solstice, the edition organized this year in Bucharest will bear the name of Code2cup Summer Fest
- In the fall, the festival will expand to Iași, where a regional event will take place, supported by the Iași Informatics Faculty
- This approach to the student community will also be marked by debates on the evolution of IT talents, debates to which representatives of the academic environment, student associations and industry companies will be present.
- For the first time, the event in Bucharest will be present Markus Brun, co -founder and co -owner of Gota Coffee Experts in Vienna, designated the best cafe in Europe and the third worldwide. It will also support a workshop
As in 2024, Code2cup will be a sustainable festival, by using reusable glasses, offering water stations and collecting coffee from the event and supports a humanitarian or social cause.
News in the “Barista Cup in IT” competition: 18 teams, an exclusively female one
Again, visitors will have the opportunity to attend the long-awaited competition of the best amateur baristas teams among IT professionals. (The registration in the competition is made by companies or by teams formed and unconditional by the demonstration of special capacities or qualifications.) So far, over 10 teams from the 18 places available this year have registered. Considering that two days after the event will be the International Women's Day engineer, the competition will also participate in a team in whole formed.
This year, the competition will have three tests: Latte Art, the preparation of coffee at aeropress and creativity. The latter is new and will consist of the preparation of coffee -based drinks, according to recipes created by competitors.
Code2Cup Student
For the first time, Code2cup will take place in a university campus, that of Bucharest Polytechnics, thus marking a new chapter in the history of the festival, which goes in the middle of the community of future professionals in IT, among which are many educated and sophisticated coffee and coffee beverages.
This approach to the Student Community will also be marked by debates on the attracting and retention of talented people in IT, debates to which representatives of the academic environment, student associations and industry companies will be present.
During breaks, participants will be able to cool down or energize, as the case may be, at a Coffee & Matcha Party.
“Code2cup increases from year to year, broadening their addressability to very important categories of public and consumers, as are students. At the same time, we build close ties, for the future, with the IT community in Romania, for which we offer a socialization and strengthening experience of employees. Coffee itself is a unique experience. Around a coffee, friends are linked, plans and strategies are set up or, perhaps, coding tasks are solved ”, says Mihaela Dincă, co-organizer of the festival.
Workshop with Markus Brun, co -founder of the best cafe in Europe
For the first time, the event in Bucharest will be present Markus Brun, co -founder and co -owner of Gota Coffee Experts (Vienna, Austria), designated the best cafe in Europe and the third worldwide. It will support a workshop on the preparation of non-alcoholic cocktails based on coffee.
In turn, the public will be able to attend workshops (for passionate and uninitiated) around topics such as alternative methods of preparation, product tastings and will be able to train their barista skills at the Learn & Try stand. Visitors will also have the opportunity to relax or have a snack in the outdoor lounge.
Like last year all cups will be reusable and recyclable
The event is designed to be 100% sustainable: only reusable and recyclable coffee cups will be used, there will be water supply stations on the spot, and the coffee gap will be collected to be used as agricultural fertilizer.
