What is Bomb B61-13?
B61-13 is the latest modification of bombs from the B61 family, built on the basis of the B61-12 model. The new version offers more firepower – up to 360 kiloton, which significantly exceeds the previous model, the maximum power of which was 50 kiloton. The bomb has the function of precise guidance and the ability to destroy difficult goals, such as underground bunkers or command stations.
Where will the new bombs hit?
As we read in a statement on the US Energy Department's website, B61-13 bombs will be arranged in the main states of the United States. The weapon will be transmitted by the latest B-21 Raider strategic bombers, and perhaps also by B-2 Spirit bombers.
