We hope that Poland will fall PLN 120-130 billion from the EU SAFE defense loan program-said the defense minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on Tuesday in Brussels. Funds are to support the production, among others Baobab erratic mining vehicles, which are to become the reconnaissance brand of Poland.

“It would be a great pool if we could take advantage of such funds,” said Kosiniak -Kamysz, who is chaired in Brussels to meet the Ministers of Defense of the EU countries.

When asked about what Polish military equipment he would benefit from new loans, he mentioned, among others BAOBAB vehicle, PIORUN anti -aircraft rocket set, self -propelled crab and storing battle cart. “This list is very long,” he added.

On Wednesday, EU countries are to grant the text of the regulation proposed by the European Commission establishing a SAFE defense loan program in the amount of EUR 150 billion. As EU sources confirmed PAP, a compromise version of the text is to take into account the conditions favorable to the Polish industry.

In this context, the Polish minister mentioned, among others Qualification to the purchasing loan program already made in the past and more favorable provisions regarding the financing of defense products from third countries, including the USA and South Korea.

“These conditions from the moment we started negotiations, for the Polish arms industry have changed radically in favor (Poland). That's why I believe that it is all possible,” said Kosiniak -Kamysz.

The deputy prime minister emphasized that “the more we invest in our security and the more we spend on shopping, the more we will scare those who wish us badly.”

“We spend more not to participate in the war, but so that there is no war. (…) We will argue to deter, to make it never pay to anyone to attack any European Union or NATO country. This is the foundation for us,” he said.

As he said, the talks of ministers also concerned the war in Ukraine. In his opinion, the actions of the US President Donald Trump, who are seeking peace in Ukraine, should be supported.

“There is hope for peace, but of course, to achieve it, you still need a lot of effort. We call for unconditional suspension of weapons. This is repeated by the Ukrainian side, (…) And Russia has been delaying for a long time. We see what true intentions it has and we are talking about it from the very beginning. But you can not let go of the fight for a peace process” – he assessed.

The minister also informed that Poland includes the experience of war in Ukraine in its security strategy. In this context, he mentioned the use of drones and anti -done systems, radio -electronic combat systems and satellite imaging. Yuriko Backes talked about the last issue – as he said – talked in Brussels with the Minister of Defense.
