US President Donald Trump told Politico on Thursday that Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky must reach an agreement on war with Russia and said that the Ukrainian leader now has “even fewer cards.”

Trump announced that negotiations on the war in Ukraine were ongoing and again expressed frustration with Zelensky.

– Zelensky must get down to work and reach an agreement, the president emphasized.

At the same time, he expressed his belief that Russian leader Vladimir Putin is ready to make peace. – I think Putin is ready to reach an agreement – he added. The US president has expressed such opinions in the past.

– It is inconceivable that (Zelensky) is an obstacle. There are no cards. And now he has even fewer cards, he said, without giving further details.
