On Sunday, May 18, at 7.00, the polling stations from all over the country were opened. 17,988,218 voters are expected at the ballot box, until the sections are closed at 21.00.

At the second round of the presidential elections 2025, the two finalists are George Simion (the alliance candidate for the union of Romanians), who in the first round obtained 3,862,761 votes (40.96%), and Nicuşor Dan (independent candidate), with 1,979,767 votes (20.99%) in the first round.

Where can voters vote

For the second round of the presidential elections, organized on May 18, the voters in the country can vote on additional lists in any other polling station, outside the locality where they have residence or domicile.

Voters can vote on permanent lists in the locality of home or residence, at the section where they were shown. To find out the voting section where the voters are shown can enter the website the Permanent Electoral Authority, at the Electoral Register section. Here, after the registration of the CNP and the family name, they will find out the voting section where they were shrugged.

Exceptions

Voters cannot vote in the same locality where they have their domicile and residence at another voting section compared to the one they are in.

Also, in Bucharest, voters can not vote on an additional list in another sector compared to the one in which they are shaped.

An exception is if they fulfill the position of member of the electoral bureau of the polling station or computer operator to a polling station or ensure the order. In this case, the voter votes at the section where he carries out his activity

Also, a low -mobility voter can vote on any polling station that provides its vote access. The Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP) has published the map of accessible sections.

At the second round of the presidential elections, citizens with voting rights on the territory of Romania can vote on Sunday, May 18, between 7.00-21.00.

In order to be able to vote in the presidential elections organized on May 18, one of the following identity document is required:

-The electronic identity card

-The provisional identity card

-the identity bull

-diplomatic development

-Electronic diplomatic development

-The service of service

-The electronic service pathway

-Pa simple (including electronic and temporary variants)

-the military service car (valid in the case of students in military schools).

All documents must be valid on election day and be issued by the Romanian state.
