The “Best Electric Car” competition in Romania, located in the fifth edition, brought together eight new models of electric cars, tested on a 250 km route.
Vehicles-Volvo Ex90, Cupra Tavascan, Hyundai Inster, Byd Sealion 7, Lynk & Co 02, Renault 5, Kia Ev3 and Ford Puma Gen-E-were tested on urban roads, highways and even on an off-road segment, notes Libertatea.ro.

On the first day, the route started from Bucharest, with a stop in Ploiești and the end in Covasna. The next day, the cars were recharged in Brasov, and the route continued with visits to the Schaeffler and Poiana Brașov factory, reports evmarket.ro.
“The electric cars have performed admirably, and the autonomy has proven more than sufficient to allow a driving style similar to that of the thermal machines, maintaining speeds of 130 km/h and 100 km/h on certain portions,” writes the source mentioned above.
The jury, consisting of 16 journalists and car influences, designated the winner of the competition: Lynk & Co 02, who obtained 97 points. The car is made by the company resulting from the association of the Swedes from Volvo with the Chinese manufacturer Geely and has a starting price of 30,000 euros.
Renault 5 came to 2nd (94 points), and Hyundai Inster completed the podium (85 points).
The organizers also awarded five special prizes:
- Bestelectric Tech: Byd Sealion 7;
- Bestelectric Range: Kia Ev3;
- Bestelectric Consumer: Ford Puma Gen-E;
- Bestelectric Design: Renault 5;
- Bestelectric Premium: Volvo Ex90.
Cluj-Napoca was chosen “Best Electric City”
In addition, Cluj-Napoca was chosen “Best Electric City” for the impressive development of the electric vehicle charging infrastructure in 2025.

The purpose of the event is to highlight the best electric models available on the Romanian market and to promote responsibility for a cleaner environment.
The competition “Best Electric Car in Romania”, launched in 2021, emphasizes the rapid transformation of the auto industry to electrification.
