On Sunday, May 18, when the polling stations in Romania are opened for the second round of the presidential elections, the Romanians will vote in a capricious weather, with much cooler temperatures than it is normal for the calendar period, the forecast issued by meteorologists shows.

During the day, the weather will be windy, with bursts over 80 km/h in the mountain and generally 45 … 55 km/h in the rest, then will lose in intensity. The maximum temperatures will be between 12 degrees in Maramureș and eastern Transylvania and 23 degrees in the south of Oltenia and Muntenia, and the minimum between 4 and 13 degrees. Isolated will be fog conditions.

Weather in Bucharest on Vote Day

For the capital, ANM announces that temperatures will rise compared to the previous day, but will still be below the normal period. The sky will be variable, and after the noon it will increase the probability for showers and electric shocks. The wind will be weak and moderate, with intensifications throughout the day (gusts generally 40 … 45 km/h). The maximum temperature will be around 21 degrees, and the minimum one will be 9 … 11 degrees.

Meanwhile, meteorologists have issued for Saturday, May 17, a Wind yellow code for the capital and 12 counties in western, south and southeast of the country, valid until tonight, at 21.00.

According to ANM, today, between 10:00 and 21:00, in the southern half of Oltenia, Muntenia and Dobrogea, and in the afternoon and in the evening and in Banat and Crişana, the wind will have general intensifications of 50-60 km/h.
