In the first decade of May, the Boguchanskaya hydroelectric power station produced 185-million kilowatt-hour since the launch of the first hydraulic units in October 2012.
The line of 175 billion kWh was passed in October 2024, and 180 billion in the second decade of January 2025. Since May 3, the Boguchanskaya hydroelectric power station has been working in the navigation mode in the hangar.
On May, the Yenisei Basin Water Directorate (Rosvodresursu) established for the Boguchanskaya hydroelectric power station the operating mode with average daily costs of 2900-3400 cubic meters per second. The decision on the new cost regime was made taking into account the hydrological situation on Lake Baikal and the Angara River: in 2025, the ice cover on the lake was established only at the end of January, and collapsed in early April.

According to the Roshydromet satellite monitoring, the opening of the rivers ends on the rivers of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, their level changes slightly, and does not reach critical marks. On the rivers of the northern regions there is an ice -building, the rivers of the southern regions were practically freed from the ice.

The flood in the area of the Boguchanskaya hydroelectric power station began already in the third decade of April, which is seven to ten days earlier than usual. In the early days of May, the lateral tributary in the Boguchansk reservoir changed in the range from 80 to 2700 cubic meters per second, the level of the reservoir from the beginning of the flood rose from the mark of 207.07 to 207.7 m (above the level of the Baltic Sea). The reservoir in the area of the pressure structures of the station is almost free from ice, along the coast and in the bays of the station specialists record floating broken ice.
The team of the Boguchanskaya hydroelectric power station began preparations for the upcoming flood in February. The station specialists regularly check the state of hydraulic structures, analyze the hydrological situation in the territories around the hydroelectric power station and constant monitoring the dynamics of the water content. The main task of the power engineers during the flood period is to ensure the readiness of hydraulic structures for taking large volumes of water and the sustainable functioning of the equipment.
