Early in the morning of January 12, Krasnoyarsk residents got stuck in a traffic jam on the Yenisei highway. City Council deputy Maxim Savchenko wrote a post about this on social networks; he said that the traffic jam at the exit from Solnechny was caused by a traffic light.
“Why and for whom it is needed there remains a mystery to me: people do not cross the road there, since there is a field on one side, a cemetery on the other, and the bus stops are so unpopular that even they are on demand, but there is no traffic light. Here we stand now. It’s not for nothing that this traffic light was called a pedestrian traffic light for ghosts – there is no one else to cross it,” explained Maxim Savchenko.
The deputy also stated that he contacted the Department of Roads, Infrastructure and Improvement and asked specialists to switch the traffic light to a different mode in order to save Krasnoyarsk residents from traffic jams.
In the comments to Maxim Savchenko’s post, residents of the Solnechny microdistrict actively express their dissatisfaction with the road situation.
“About 8:00 the traffic light was already flashing yellow. It worked by pressing a button, it was completely unclear why it was turned on,” Krasnoyarsk resident Roman shared his thoughts.
“This person from the UDIB, who gave the order, should be fired or at least deprived of his bonus, then other officials will think with their heads,” said city resident Alexander.
Let us remind you that earlier, in order to improve the transport accessibility of Solnechny, the mayor’s office decided to extend the route of trolleybus No. 5 and direct it to the microdistrict. The search for a contractor to install the contact network began in the summer of 2025. The specialists were given the task of installing lighting poles in the area from the street. Shumyatsky to st. Yeniseisky tract, 20 and place the necessary electrical equipment on them.
In early December, the Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport Newslab reported that all necessary work had been completed. The network is ready, the process of transferring it to the responsible organization for operation is now underway.
