“Thanks to the activities of the President of the Energy Regulatory Office, the recipient of electricity, heat and gas paid less by PLN 13.85 billion than it would result from the tariffs, presented to the regulator for approval “ – informed in the report on the activities of the President of the Energy Regulatory Office in 2024.
The actions of the President of the Energy Regulatory Office Rafał Gawin led to a reduction in tariffs requested by sellers, thanks to which the recipients paid less. “The regulator has made the utmost care to realize the obligation to protect the interests of recipients before unjustified price and rates” – emphasized.

As part of tariff proceedings, the President of the Energy has provided entities dealing with transmission, distribution and trade in electricity, gas and heat regulated revenues in a total amount of PLN 128.9 billion. On the other hand, the amount of assistance granted within the power market, long -term contracts, as well as the support of energy -consuming sectors and energy generators from renewable sources amounted to PLN 18.8 billion.
In 2024, URE again recorded an increase of nearly 5 percent. The number of refusals to determine the conditions for connecting to the power network. At the same time, there was a significant decrease in the total power of all refusal issued, which amounted to less than 73.6 GW and was 12 percent. Lower than in 2023 for renewable energy sources, last year, 6259 cases of refusal to issue connecting conditions to the network, with a total capacity of 42.4 GW, were recorded.

In the structure of electricity generation compared to 2023, the share of renewable energy and gas power plants increased. In the case of renewable energy, production increased from 21.52 percent. in 2023 to 25.28 percent in 2024
