David Popovici swims today for a new medal, in the final of the 100 -meter free sample from the Singapore World Championship, after Tuesday won the gold in the 200 -meter free, according to Eurosport.ro.

The Romanian swimmer qualified on Wednesday, with the second best time in the semifinals (46:84), after the American Jack Alexy (46:81). The two athletes thus entered the top 5 the best times in the history of the 100 -meter free sample.

The Romanian swimmer David Popovici confirmed his class from the Olympic champion in Titre, after winning the gold medal on Tuesday in the 200-meter sample at the Singapore World Natation Championship.
Popovici won the race with 1: 43.53. American Luke Hobson ranked second with: 1: 43.84.
David was the third after the first length of basin, the fourth after the second basin, the second before the last basin, and in the last 50 meters he recovered incredibly and won the gold.
After the end of the race, David Popovici made some statements:
“I think it was better than at the Olympic games. It comes after a more relaxed year. I am more glad than after the Olympic final. I told myself that I have to win, that I cannot lose, that I have to give the best,” said the Romanian swimmer.
