In Divnogorsk, the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a 32-year-old native of the Volgograd region was detained for theft of money from pensioners under the guise of selling construction power tools.

It was established that the attacker arrived in the city at the end of April this year in order to find victims for his fraudulent scheme. One day he came to the garage massif, where he met an 85-year-old man and invited him to buy a chainsaw and a screwdriver for only 10 thousand rubles, the real price of which is allegedly five times more.

“He explained the sale with an urgent departure to Abkhazia, and his grandfather agreed. He invited the man home, opened a wallet, which the accused rudely selected and took out much more from him than they agreed – 190 thousand rubles, ”the prosecutor’s office said.

The swindler later also acted with a 79-year-old Divnogor. He convinced him to purchase the same tools, but for 40 thousand rubles. Having offered his help in payment through a mobile application, he transferred almost 80 thousand rubles to his card.

Law enforcement officers, on the call of the victims, quickly went on the trail of the “guest” and detained him.

In relation to the man, criminal cases of fraud were instituted (part 2 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and theft from the bank account (“G” of part 3 of article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). He himself is detained.
