The digital revolution in Europe is starting. Dariusz Mazurkiewicz announces a common European telephone transfer system, which already connects millions of users and the largest payment operators. “This is not just a slogan – this is a real action plan that will change the rules of playing payments.”
– We have ready solutions, we have experience, but above all we have the trust of millions of users in Europe and we are working on this time. Europe's digital sovereignty is no longer just a password from a manifesto. This is our action plan for today. With payment operators from Western and North Europe We are currently creating a common European transfusion system on the phone. The good news is that we do not start from scratch – announced Dariusz Mazurkiewicz, CEO of Blik during the second day of the Impact Conference in Poznań.
The president pointed out that Blik is made today the most transactions in Europe, there were almost 2.5 billion in WZ last year. “We have a lot of experience in local markets, but at the moment it is time to erect these iron curtains in the world of payment,” he emphasized Mazurkiewicz.
– 450 million Europeans are waiting for this simplicity. Today, the phone is enough to fall into a pizza into Rome or Croissant to Paris. But it is not enough to divide the account from the restaurant in the international group. We still cannot spontaneously transfer a few euros an artist in Barcelona or send a tip for lemonade on the beach. Traveling more and more, we open ourselves to the world, but we can only do transfers to the phone within our domestic, local solutions – said Mazurkiewicz.
At the moment Blik's boss did not reveal the details concerning, among others Whether BLIK will become the main payment system or what the process of integration with other European platforms will look like for the phone transfers.
