Funnels and a shot fence, Aurika Rotaru said what Russian invaders had done with her house

“I did not believe that there would be a war. I did not believe to the last,” the artist admitted.

According to Aurika Rotaru, in the early days of a full -scale war, she and her family left her house and went to her native village of Marsshintsy, located in the Chernivtsi region.

“I stayed there with the brothers. We stayed there for exactly two months. And when we freed the Kyiv region, I immediately returned home. When I returned home, my Altank was broken, the windows in the house were broken,” the artist said.

The singer noted that there were also funnels from shells and a shot fence on the site,

“But I was glad that the house is a whole that can live there. Over time, I repaired everything, changed the windows. And I didn’t go anywhere else. I was in Kyiv, at home all the time,” she assured.

Context

Aurika Rotaru was born on October 22, 1958 in the village of Marshintsy Chernivtsi region. She graduated from the Chernivtsi music school named after Vorobkevich and the Odessa Pedagogical Institute named after Ushinsky. In 2019, she was awarded the title of People's Artist of Ukraine.

In 1987, the singer married Ukrainian banker Vladimir Pigach. In the same year, the daughter of Anastasia was born in the family. In 2005 The husband of Rotaru died of a stroke.
