After George Simion was missing from the Digi24 and Antena 3 debates, Gold accuses Nicușor Dan of avoiding neutral debates and asks for a confrontation “including by phone”

The Alliance for the Union of Romanians (Gold) sent a press release on Tuesday, accusing George Simion's counter -candidate in the second round of presidential elections, Nicușor Dan, of avoiding debates organized by neutral institutions and prefers appearances in the television studios “supporting Fățiș”.

“Nicușor Dan seems willing to participate in” debates “only in the studios of the televisions that support Fățiș – Digi24, Antena 3 or friendly podcasts such as Micutzu,” the gold sent by the gold.

Gold states that Dan refused to participate in the debates proposed by Europa FM, the University of Bucharest, ASE or the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania and claim that he is afraid of an equidistant framework.

“It is easy to show yourself” balanced “in a studio in which the questions are chosen on the eyebrow. But the true democracy is measured in the courage to answer honestly, in front of all citizens, in any equidistant framework,” continues the political formation.

At the same time, Gold asks the counter -candidate to accept at least the invitation of the Romanian Broadcasting Society.

“We expect Mr. Nicușor Dan to accept at least one confrontation organized by the Romanian Broadcasting Society – a public institution, which offers the chance of a civilized debate, even in a distance format (including by phone, if he is afraid of the face -to -face),” the statement said.

“We ask Mr. Dan to give up with the image campaign directed exclusively on the serviced television and to assume, for the first time in this campaign, a sincere, direct confrontation, in front of the voters who deserve respect, far from the home TVs of the system that have been behind it,” the gold representatives concluded.

George Simion is missing from the debate to Antena 3 CNN

Antena 3 CNN organizes on Tuesday night what was to be a debate between the two candidates entering the second round of the presidential elections, Nicușor Dan and George Simion. Although both were invited, the gold leader does not participate in the television event.

Simion was present during the morning at the event of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR), dedicated to the candidates in the presidential elections, but Nicușor Dan was missing.

George Simion did not participate a day ago in the debate organized by Digi24. The gold leader did not provide official explanations for his absence in the plateau, but a few minutes after the start of the debate, the gold candidate published a video recording from his office in which he discusses with several journalists of the Digi24 station, explaining to them, in a harsh tone, the reasons for which he refused to participate in the debate.

So far, George Simion and Nicușor Dan have had only two electoral confrontations face to face after the first round of presidential elections.

The first took place at the congress of the National Trade Union Block, on May 7. The second was held on May 8, at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, and was organized by Euronews, when the two counter -candidates answered questions about four hours.
