Police car involved in a road accident in Bucharest. A pedestrian was injured and transported to the hospital

A pedestrian was injured on Monday evening, after being surprised and injured by a police car traveling with the signals in operation on the Colentina road in Bucharest.

According to the Road Brigade, the incident occurred on May 13, around 6:00 pm, in the area of Colentina Road, in Sector 2 of Bucharest. A police car from Section 7, which was traveling on the tram line from Mrs. Ghica street to Fundeni Road, hit a pedestrian in crossing the street.
“The driver of a special police vehicle within Section 7, which was traveling on the tram line (…) having the special light and sound warning signals, surprised and injured a pedestrian engaged in crossing the public road.“, The Road Brigade said.
Following the impact, the pedestrian was injured and was transported to the hospital for specialized medical care. So far, no further details have been provided about the victim's condition.
The driver of the special vehicle was tested with the alcohol tester, and the result was negative. Authorities are currently conducting research to determine exactly how the accident has occurred.
“The research of the place is carried out for the accurate determination of the causes and circumstances in which the traffic accident occurred”, The representatives of the Road Brigade added.
