The independent candidate for presidential Nicușor Dan said on Monday night at Digi24, that although he does not have a list of expenses that he would immediately reduce if they reached Cotroceni, there are many areas where you can “cut”.

“I do not have a list, but as long as I know the functioning of the state, there are many places we can cut,” said Nicușor Dan.

Although he did not provide a clear answer, he exemplified what measures he took at the Capital City Hall. The mayor of Bucharest claimed that he made “some painful cuts: investments in parks, guard in parks, street repairs, but I rectified”.

The journalist Andreea Dumitrescu stated that during the same period she also cut from social aids.

“We postponed their payment, yes. We were obliged to do this in order not to suspend the operation of public transport or heating,” Dan replied.

What about the administrative-territorial reform

Asked when and how he intends to implement the administrative-territorial reform, he replied “no earlier than two and a half years. Three. Logic is for her to enter into force with the mandate of new mayors, following the local elections of 2028. An administrative-territorial reform must be done on studies, not on the knees”.

Nicușor Dan appreciated that the administrative-territorial reform of 1968 was quite well-founded, but “now we are in a different economic paradigm”.

“The division since then no longer corresponds to the economic model now, which is based on the economic activity of the big cities. For example, if someone lives in Târgoviște, it must have a railway to bring it in 40 minutes in Bucharest. And this is valid for the other great cities of Romania,” he concluded.

The independent candidate Nicușor Dan, ranked second in the first round of the presidential elections, was presented on Monday night at the Digi 24. Gold leader George Simion did not accept the invitation.
