For receiving a bribe with extortion, the court sentenced the ex-inspector of the Krasnoyarsk regiment of the traffic police to 7 years in prison and A fine of 100 thousand rubles.

As the prosecutor’s office said, the crime was committed in November 2024. The patrol, driving along the outskirts of the city, noticed a car parked on the side of the gravel road, the driver of which at the sight of traffic police officers hastened to leave. Having suspected him of drug trafficking, inspectors turned on flashing lights and stopped the car, but during the inspection they did not find prohibited substances.

Then one of the police officers, not devoting his partner to his intentions, threatened the driver and his two passengers throw drugs if he does not receive 50 thousand rubles from them. Young people, frightened, went by taxi to the ATM and handed over the required amount to the traffic police officer.

“I watched the car, did not find anything forbidden inside and decided to get a bribe from the driver. I reinforced the requirement with a threat: “50 thousand or we find something”, but I did not have narcotic drugs. So that no one would hear, I put the passengers in the car and spoke to the driver in a whisper, ”the defendant said.

After some time, the victim announced a crime and the policeman was detained.
