77 percent employees see no sense in their duties

According to SW Research and Runaways, 80 percent Poles do not feel passion for their work, and 77 percent He sees no sense in his duties. This leads to an increase in the level of stress and professional burnout, which means that we no longer have energy for private life. Work-Life Balance, especially important for younger generations, is difficult to achieve. In addition, the development of new technologies and work models causes more and more blurring of differences between free time and work.

– You usually hear a thug: hard work, tiring work. I am afraid that very often work is perceived as a man, as something that is overwhelming strength – emphasizes in an interview with Newseria agency dr Ewa Woydyłło -Osiatyńska, a psychologist, and addiction therapist.
– Research shows that work is a source of stress for Poles. For a society that is already in full swing from political and economic transformation, the goal should be for us to think about work, to be synonymous with modernity for us, carry democratic values, but not necessarily stress and daily torment – says prof. Karolina Wigura, sociologist from the Institute of Sociology of the University of Warsaw, member of the board of the Liberal Culture Foundation.
Poles spend an average of 40 hours a week at work, the same We belong to the most busy European nations. The study of SW Research and the Runaways advertising agency shows that Over 2/3 of employees believe that they are good at what they do professionally, but at the same time as much as 80 percent. I don't feel passion for his work. A similar percentage (77 percent) does not feel that work is needed for society. 40 percent He admits that professional success is in their opinion tantamount to life success, which in turn can affect general life satisfaction.
– Work is above all a source of earnings, maintenance, so we often agree, for example, work that requires a lot of effort, which you are not ready, especially women who must combine other tasks that no one else will do. We then have internal conflicts: my work requires so much from me that I have very little strength to live in me. We know the concept of professional burnout, which results not from a lack of competence, but from a large accumulation of various types of responsibility – says Dr. Ewa Woydyłło -Osiatyńska.
Four out of 10 employees once a week or more often feel too tired/tired after work to enjoy free time. The importance of this problem is the greatest in the youngest generations, among Zetek and Millennials (47 and 44 percent, respectively). This phenomenon may be related to declared overtime work – 20 percent do overtime at least once a week. Zetek and 27 percent millennials.
The oldest generation (years of 1945-1964) more often than the others declare that they do not sometimes give up dismissal or free at work in fear of a negative opinion of colleagues and employer. It is also a generation that more often adheres to the principle of treating work priority, professional life is a very important part of their lives – unlike the youngest generation, which is just entering the labor market and agrees with this statement the least.
– We know that the post -war generation of boomers is a generation of diligence, while the latest generation, Zetek, focuses on the fact that not only work gives meaning to life, but also other activities, and free time is very important – says dr hab. Karolina Wigura.
Although money is important, they are no longer a sufficient factor attracting or stopping talents. The “Randstad Workmonitor 2025” report indicates that for 87 percent Employee stability is crucial, but the balance between professional and private life (83 percent) turns out to be almost equally important. For the first time in history, this aspect overtook the salary (82 percent) as the main motivating factor. The differences can be seen more clearly in some groups of respondents. In the generation with Work-Life Balance indicates 74 percent. respondents, and I pay – 68 percent, and in the generation of Baby Boomers, respectively 85 and 87 percent
– Even if this is not a spontaneous need for people to find the right ratio of work-life balance, they are already people who organize work and they want to improve the quality of life, including psychologists, very often put pressure on it. The concept is popularized, and thus many people begin to draw conclusions, go to yoga, practice, meditate, sign up to the gym to gain energy, relax – argues Dr. Ewa Woydyłło -Osiatyńska.
– Work-Life Balance is rather a magical formula. He doesn't really describe reality, he is more a dream than something real. Today, due to the use of new technologies and remote work, we are rather dealing with the increasing blur of the difference between free time and work, and we will rather face it in the following decades, and not with the border between work and private life – emphasizes dr hab. Karolina Wigura. – Poles are at a very interesting moment when it comes to their attitude towards work, namely they are somewhere between the collective habit to the very hard work of the system of political transformation and the era of the digital, remote and based on cooperation with artificial intelligence.
