Guatemala was extradited to the United States on the United States Baldomero Samayoa, a drug dealer that is on the list of 100 criminals by Washington, AFP reports.
Samayoa, nicknamed Chicharra, is accused of leaving the Los Huistas cartel, a suspected organization to transport cocaine from South America to Mexican cartels.
“Run Baldomero Samayoa Rocinos, Alias Chicharra, was expelled to the United States to face justice on drug trafficking,” said President Bernardo Arévalo, in a press conference/
The man was in the first place on the list of the most sought after people in Guatemala.
He was arrested on March 11 on the Mexican territory following conjugated efforts made by Guatemala, the United States and Mexico, then transferred to a prison to Guatemala City, waiting for extracting. In the cell, he said he wants to recognize the accusations that are brought to him.
The American embassy has confirmed on X that Run Baldomero Samayoa is in the United States custody and has greeted the “most important extradition of the last decades” made by Guatemala to the United States.
