Over 10,000 runners start at the Bucharest semi -marathon. Traffic restrictions

Over 10,000 amateur and professional runners are expected to compete on Saturday and Sunday at the 14th edition of Bucharest Half Marathon. Several road restrictions have been imposed for the event.

The organizers announce several road restrictions. Thus, on Saturday morning the sports and emergencies were delimited by fences and tape by the organizer, without closing the road traffic. The same thing happened on the routes of the 10km individual races and 2.5 km as well as on the streets accessing them, between 07.30 and 14.00.
The routes of Saturdays and start -up competitions
Caps 10km route, starting at 09:00: Start – Libertăţii Boulevard, Right Splaiul Independence, United Nations Square, Right United Nations Boulevard, Left Libertâţii Boulevard, Left Bretea Constitution Square (General Prosecutor), Right Unirii Boulevard, Alba Iulia Square, Ronda Iulia, without affection. Unirii, right Icbrătianu Boulevard, Left Halelor Street, Continue Splaiul Independence, left Bphasdeu bridge (without affecting car traffic) left Splaiul Independence, United Nations, right United Nations, Left Libertăţii Boulevard, Constitution Square – Arrival, at 08.45.
The popular race (Fun Race), starting at 12:00: Start – from Libertatii Boulevard, Right Splaiul Independence, United Nations Square, Continue Splaiul Independence, right IC Brătianu Boulevard, Right Unirii Boulevard, Fountain, continued Unirii Boulevard, Right Bretea Constitution, Left Libertă, the start for people with disabilities will be started.

Starting at 05.00, the delimitation of the sports and those for emergencies with fences and tape will be made, without closing the road traffic. The traffic will be restricted on the routes of the 21 km and staff races as well as on the streets that access them, between 07.30 and 13.00.

The traffic arteries will be reopened to the sequential road traffic, depending on the position of the last runner that falls during the regulatory time of the competition.

For the West – East relationship it is recommended through the Union Passage, Victoria Passage or Basarab Passage using routes:

– Nicolae Titulescu Şosaua – Victoriei Passage – Iancu de Hunedoara Boulevard – Stefan cel Mare Road;
– Grozaveşti Road or Vasile Milea – Basarab Passage – Budul Banu Manta – Ion Mihalache Boulevard – Alexandru Averescu Boulevard – Arc de Triomphe – Constantin Prezan Bdul – Calea Dorobantilor – Ştefan cel Mare.
Road restrictions and segments subject to these restrictions and alternative routes will be taken over by the most important mobility, Waze and Tomtom applications.
10,000 runners started, last year, at the 13th edition of Bucharest Half Marathon. The winner of the semi-marathon, the male sample, managed to travel the route in an hour and a minute.
