The youngest deputy in the Parliament of Romania, Ariadna Cîrigeanu, from Aur, published a Facebook post on Friday claiming that in Bucharest there are “more and more boys who come to school dresses”. She did not offer other clarifications. The executive director of the Mozaiq Association draws attention, on the other hand, that by this message, the deputy “resumed a discourse that only polarizes even more and to create a feeling of fear for LGBT people.”
- Hotnews contacted Ariadna Cîrigeanu to ask for more details about the statements made, but she did not respond to the newsroom's calls and messages.
“I do not want in our country the gender ideology that Nicușor Dan promoted in Bucharest. The boys are boys and the girls are girls,” wrote on Facebook the youngest deputy in the Romanian Parliament.
In the comment section, someone told her that the reason Nicușor Dan left USR was related to the family referendum, when the current mayor did not agree with the USR decision to position himself against the referendum.
In another comment, one person sent him Ariadna Cîrigeanu that Nicușor Dan approved both the LGBT march and the march of “normality”: “it is only that they respect the right to free expression of the parts without problems.”
“The problem is general and already more and more boys who come to dresses at school,” said the gold deputy.
Reaction: “In the electoral period there were cases of LGBT persons assaulted on the street”
The executive director of the Mozaiq Association, Vlad Viski, says that speeches like the deputy of Ariadne Cîrligeanu “only polarize even more and create a sense of fear for LGBT people.”
“The deputy did not read the Constitution of Romania and does not know that there is freedom of expression guaranteed there for all the citizens of Romania,” said Vlad Viski.
“We, in Mozaiq, received signals that during this election period there were cases of LGBT people on the street, victims of homophobia and transfobia. Maybe for Mrs. Cîrliganu it is just some statements, but we are talking about the lives of some people,” he explained.
He says that “violence in Parliament turns into violence against LGBT people in Romania into real life.”
Who is Ariadna Cîrligeanu
Ariadna Cîrligeanu became a deputy by Botosani, chosen on the golden lists, following the parliamentary elections of December 1, 2024. She is the youngest member of the current legislative.
She reached the public attention for the first time in May 2023, after trying to enter Parliament with four bullets, as the representatives of the Chamber of Deputies and the Police were then announced.
“That girl had boles (sic), there were drawn, rusty bullets, which she had as souvenir,” said George Simion.
“In this case I was heard exclusively as a witness. The criminal prosecution against me did not start and it will not start because the objects in question did not represent ammunition. As is the case in the Romanian justice, this file was delayed too much. Probably suddenly, overnight, just because I arrived in Parliament,” Hotnews, Ariadna Cîrligeanu, when he also spoke about his priorities in the Romanian Parliament.
Ariadna Cîrligeanu has occupied in the past, for a year, the position of president of the Youth Gold.
