The new Hope and Korwin parties did not submit financial statements for 2024 – according to the statement of the National Electoral Commission published on Friday. In this case, PKW pursuant to the court to remove such parties from the records.
The president of the New Hope party is Sławomir Mentzen – a member of the Confederation for President. In turn, the Confederation of the Renewal of the Republic of Poland Freedom and Independence (Korwin) is represented by Janusz Korwin-Mikke.
On Friday, the National Electoral Commission published a message, according to, among others These parties did not submit financial statements for 2024 on the required date, which expired on March 31.
Pursuant to the Act on political parties, if the political party does not submit a report on the required period, the PKW shall apply to the court to delete the party's entry from the records.
The obligation to submit reports was on 97 political parties entered in the records of political parties (EWP), kept by the District Court in Warsaw.

The report of the statutory auditor regarding political party reports: European Democrats, Polish National Community and Law and Justice were not prepared for reasons beyond these parties.”

The announcement of the National Electoral Commission published on Friday is dated May 5. On the same day PKW, among others She rejected the financial statements of the Sovereign Poland party, founded by the former Minister of Justice Zbigniew Ziobro (currently a member of Law and Justice). The report was rejected due to a violation of the Act on political parties. In the resolution, the Commission indicated that the party was promoted at the convention organized on May 3, 2023 by another party – Solidarity Poland (also founded by Ziobra). Before the convention, a change of name Solidarna Polska to sovereign Poland was announced, while – according to the records kept by the Court – both of these parties operate: both sovereign and Solidarity Poland. At the convention of May 3, 2023, Solidarna Poland presented, among others Spot informing about the creation of the Sovereign Poland party. The lecturers also encouraged that “their new hashtag + sovereign Poland + beaten the internet.”
According to the PKW, one party was promoted by the other. As we read in the resolution, PKW submitted a query to the chairman of sovereign Poland in this matter. In response, he was to state that the party did not organize the convention of May 3, 2023, because the party did not yet exist. The PKW indicates, however, that the application for the creation of the Sovereign Poland party was submitted to the court on April 26, 2023. The Commission recognizes that on the day of the convention the party already existed. “This means that the Sovereign Poland party used the advertising service (…) provided by another political party – Solidarna Polska, which is unlawful” – the resolution was indicated.
On that day, the financial statements of Solidarity Poland for 2023 were rejected. As we read in the resolution, the decision is the result of the Solidarity Poland's answer to the PKW questions. This, in turn, prevented the committee from finding out whether the party obtained financial resources in accordance with the regulations.
In the event of rejection of the annual financial statement, the party is threatened with losing the subsidy provided for the parties that got into the parliament.
The National Electoral Commission also decided on Monday that in a letter to the Minister of Finance Andrzej Domański on party subsidies for 2025, the amount of subsidy for PiS will be placed by less than PLN 11 million and the amount of subsidy for the confederation less by PLN 87,000. According to PKW, the subsidy for 2025 for PiS should amount to approx. PLN 15 million, and for the confederation – about PLN 8 million. (PAP)
