Dramatic scenes occurred around 17:50 at Charlottenstrassee, at a busy, multi -lane intersection in the center of Stuttgart. The perpetrator managed the Mercedes. He entered a group of people at a pedestrian crossing. A police spokesman said that three people were seriously injured. They were taken to hospitals in Stuttgart. One person had to be resuscitated. In total, eight people were wounded.
Firefighters and paramedics appeared on the spot – reports “Bild”.
The police are not certain causes of the incident. – For now, we assume that it was an accident, but we are conducting a comprehensive investigation – said DPA agency police spokesman. “An attack can never be ruled out, you can't look into people's heads, but at first glance it looks in case,” he added.
