“In 1935, the regional industry unit organized an artel for the extraction and processing of marble in the village of Birakan. Our artel was small, the work was not mechanized. The manual labor was low -performance, and the cost of marble products is extremely high.
Metrostroevtsy came to our aid. At that time, we received an order from the metro builders for the supply of 350 cubic meters of pink marble blocks. The metro -construction team arrived at us … Metrostroevtsy taught immigrants to the art of extraction and blocking blocks. We completed the metro order and are proud that the metro station (Belorussky Station) was lined with pink marble mined in the birakan. “
In 1939, the only mechanized Burakan marble and deposit entered the land in the region. It is equipped with two sawmills, four grinding machines, a milling machine. Each sawmill from one post gives 40 square meters. meters of marble slabs. Servs the frame one worker.
People grew with the growth of artel. The highly qualified frames of marblers made marble slabs for electric shields, produced marble crumbs, marble flour.
“Our factory has great prospects. The reserves of white, pink, green and blue marble are innumerable. We are facing an urgent task-to organize the production of artistic and mosaic products, to achieve in the coming years the mass production of marble products in order to decorate the city and villages of our region with marble.”
