The USR sent a message on Sunday night, after the partial results show a presidential final between George Simion and Nicuşor Dan: “We have a great hop”.
“Mathematics did its job. But in two weeks we have a great hop of the past. Together, also with their eyes to the west,” wrote, on the official Facebook page of the USR, the representatives of the formation, Cites News.ro.
Part of the USR leaders announced, in the election campaign, that they withdraw the support of Elena Lasconi and support Nicuşor Dan, but they did not have the right to make an election campaign for the independent candidate.
Nicușor Dan passed on the 2nd place, according to the results published until this time by the Permanent Electoral Authority, following the vote at the first round of the presidential elections, departing Crin Antonescu. In fact, Antonescu has already recognized his defeat. Nicușor Dan will face in the second round Cugeorge Simion, who won this first round.
